the modifers on my MacNTouch have suddendly become "sticky", i.e. characters remain capitalized even after I release the 4-finger shift mode (or the shift key for that matter). Only after shortly tapping the shift modifier again, I GET back to normal. IT"S the same with alt, ctrl, and cmd modifiers, except here things go really berserk...

I THINK I TRIED EVERYTHING - the "5-slap reset", re-plugging USB, rebooting the machine, uploading the factory defaults with the MyGesture editor - still the same. System Diagnostics reports no errors.

please help.

OK, it's working again, sorry for the confusion.

The strange thing though is that somehow the sticky key option got turned on in the OS X 'Universal Access' System Preferences, a panel that I have never visited before...

That's something that has happened to me before with other settings, like being surprised with a different alert sound or slowed down mouse speed. Makes me wonder if there actually ARE OS X viruses. Maybe a problem for a different forum though.....
